After over 30 years of service, this piece of hardware often needs service because of aging parts. Repair is possible in most cases.
In case your Brick stopped working, no communication with your vehicle is possible anymore. Your TestBook might throw an error, that the wrong diagnostic adaptor has been installed, even its the correct one.
Reasons for this behavior could be different. In many cases the communication parts responsible for the isolation between the car and TestBook fail after many years of service. Unfortunately those aren’t available anymore, but we developed an even better replacement for those parts.
In other cases, high power battery chargers were connected to the vehicle battery, while performing work with the TestBook. Something someone should NEVER do. We’ve seen a number of severely damaged Interfaces with burnt PBS because of this misuse.

After we performed so many repairs on defect Bricks, we found it would be a good idea in offering an upgrade module, wich ich much more robust that the original one.
It also makes use of modern components with less tolerances, aiming at performing reliable service for many more years.
It is also of great help for those, where the original PCB has been severely damaged or previous repair attempts were not successful.
Our Module is a 1:1 replacement for the original one and therefore easy to install.

A couple of TestBook owners simply lost their original Brick and weren’t able sending theirs for repair or upgrade.
