Repairs, Upgrades & Services
All Discoveries up to Model Year around 2014, are equipped with a big black Box called BCM or “Body Control Unit”.
It controls almost anything electrical inside your car and also takes control of the Engine immobilisation.
The desing of this unit is tricky: as long it is in the armed state, it blocks all communication attempts for unlocking it.
In case the Keyfobs are lost or stopped working, the vehicle is permanently grounded, unless the correct EKA Code (Emergency Key Access) is known. But even then: after many years of use, the lock Cylinder of the Drivers Door often is worn out, making the entering of the EKA Code impossible.
Luckily we can offer unlocking your BCU, bypassing the immobilizer permanently, setting a new EKA Code or whatever else is desired.
Also we can help with ECU problems. We can check and repair your TD5 MSB or NNN Unit, backup, copy or replace your Software tunes, and many more!
Valeo BCU
The Valeo BCU inside your Disco is a quite delicate device.
Because it summarizes so many functions in a single Unit, malfunction of it has severe effects on the whole car.
Most customers demand maximum reliability and ask for our bullet proof Bypass Module. With this you will EVER be able starting your car and drive it, even your Keyfobs get lost or destroyed. We are not re-programming your BCU like others do, because we find this not reliable.
You can find your BCU on the right hand side behind the Glove Box (on LHD Vehicles) . It is mounted upright and secured with one Screw.
ECU Services
Over the years, we were able to test & rescue a large number of Discovery ECUs. Primarily the Td5 MSB & NNN Type ECUs are suffering from defect Injector Drivers or other problems.
We can also offer to backup or replace the Software / Firmware of your NNN Type Td5 ECUs.
Also we can clone your existing ECU data to another spare unit or match a new ECU to your existing Immobilizer.
We can also modify your ECU to work without an Immobilizer. By this your ECU could be swapped between several vehicles without adapting it to the Immobilizer of each car.
